Services stopped in 75 districts with positive cases


Today, the Health Minister urged the people to break the chain of transmission of COVID-19 (Coronavirus Disease 2019).LavAggarwal,Joint Secretary in the Health Ministry, said that a lot of measure has been taken to stop the chain of transmission.

The central government has directed the state government to stop all the services in 75 districts which have positive cases except the emergency services.Lucknow, Ghaziabad, Agra, Varanasi, Kolkata, Dehradun, Jaipur, Jammu, Chennai, Pune, Mumbai, Nagpur, Kottayam, Bengaluru, Srinagar, Faridabad, Ahmedabad, Gandhinagar, Vadodara, Delhi, Chandigarh, Vijayawada, etc. are some of the 75 districts.

One of the easiest measures to stop the chain of transmission is to isolate people who are coming from outside. The virus can only transmit through direct contact with the droplets of affected people.80% of people who are affected by the virus have symptoms like cold fever and also government has done 16 to 17 thousands test already.

High-level meeting of the chief secretaries decided that all the railway operations will be suspended till 31stMarch because of the COVID-19. The country has already reported 341 cases positive and number of corona virus cases rising every day. 3deaths are due to this deadly virus.

NPPA says that chloroquine andhydroxychloroquineare adequate in India

NPPA ensures that there is no shortage of chloroquine and hydroxychloroquine in India. If anyone faces the supply issues, they can immediately report tothe NPPA control room.

NPPA stands for National Pharmaceutical Pricing Authority. NPPA is a governmental Authority or organisation which controls and revise the prices of the medicines in the bulk in India.It also ensures the availability of medicines at affordable prices in the country.
NPPA was formed on 29 August 1997 and is an attached office of the Department of Pharmaceuticals. The chairman of NPPA is Shubhra Singh, IAS.

Functions of NPPA include:
  • Maintain the data of export and import, profits of company, etc for the bulk drugs and formulations.
  • Advise the Central Government on the changes in the medicines/drug policies.
  • Monitor the supply of the medicines in the country and also identify the shortages.
  • Implement the provisions of Drug Price Control Order.
