Use of indelible ink allowed for home quarantined
The use of
indelible ink to stamp on the hands of those people who are suspected of being
infected with coronavirus has been allowed by the Election Commission.
The secretary,
health ministry, all chief electoral officers of the states and the
manufacturer of the ink have been informed about the “Home quarantined stamp”. The ink is prepared by the Mysore
Paints & Varnish Limited, which is an undertaking of the Karnataka
government.
“Home quarantined”
means people who are suspects of having coronavirus or are suffering from cold,
should stay isolate themselves in a separate room at home.
The union health Minister made it clear that if we use indelible ink on the skin, the mark will stay only for
three days, but if used on the fingernail, it will stay
till the nail grow out.The ink should not be put on any finger of the left hand
as left forefinger is marked with ink at the polling stations before a person
casts his/her vote.
